St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 24, 2025 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Robert "Bobby" Frank Benintende, Jr., 50, who went home to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, November 21, 2025.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2:30 pm until 8:00 pm. It will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening.
Father Jason Vidrine will officiate the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Ashton Benintende and Benjamin Landry.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery Mausoleum.
Bobby spent much of his life involved in the lives of his family and friends, bringing joy to all who knew him. He was an active daily witness to Christ through his daily, morning bible verse messages, which will be especially remembered by friends and family, along with his deep commitment to their relationship along with his love of cooking for friends and family, sports and outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Nicole Benintende; children Aubreigh Benintende Douet and her husband, Nicholas Douet and Ashton Benintende; parents-in-law, Larry and Rosemary Delahoussaye; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kim Delahoussaye; siblings, Myla Shields (David), Drew Benintende (Amy) and Dana Bourgeois; godchildren, Blaine Bourgeois, Watson Delahoussaye and Kelby Simon; and nephews, Warner Delahoussaye, Brent Bourgeois and Brock Bourgeois.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Aaron Michael Shields.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Landry, Kevin Delahoussaye, Ashton Benintende, Nicholas Douet, Brandon Gleason, Dr. Brent Hebert and Juan Castillo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Watson Delahoussaye, Blaine Bourgeois, Warner Delahoussaye, Darryl Clark, Eric Carter, Luke Delahoussaye and Elijah Landry.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Brent Hebert, Brock Romero NP, and Southern Grace Hospice for their exceptional care during this time. They also wish to sincerely thank the staff at MMR and Breaux Brothers Enterprises for allowing him to be a part of their workplaces doing the things which he loved.
