Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Robert Johnson, Sr., 74, who passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Saturday from 7:00 am until 10:00 am. 

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Ashley Guidry and Alexis Durio.

Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. 

 In loving memory of Robert Johnson, Sr., the community is devastated by the loss of a beloved father, brother, and friend. Born on March 15, 1950, in Lafayette, Robert passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 74.

Robert's life was a testament to hard work and dedication, as he spent his years as a skilled farmer and dozer operator, providing for his large and loving family. His passion for family was evident in everything he did, always ready with a joke and a smile that could light up any room. Robert enjoyed his Copenhagen while entertaining his family and friends. 

Robert's memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his laughter, love, and spirit live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Johnson; sons, Lawrence Johnson (Kimberly), Joseph A. Johnson (Kathy), Robert Johnson, Jr. (Tesser), Clarence Johnson (Natisha), Daniel Johnson (Cami), Hilton Johnson (Tawana) and Alfred Johnson; daughters, Mercedes Batiste (Everette), Annette Johnson, Felicia Johnson, and Francesca Johnson; sisters, Angel Johnson and Anna Mae Williams; and his grandchildren, Cherrelle Demouchette, Lawrence Johnson, Jr., Tarija Baise, Cody Batiste, Shanara Batiste, Everette Batiste, Jr., Madison Johnson, Malone Johnson, Mason Johnson, Cierra Johnson, Devon Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, Embrey Johnson, Jayce Johnson, Miyah Pete, Taylon Johnson, Madyx Johnson, Mariah Lafonte, Kasen Johnson, Kinsley Johnson, Justice Johnson, Jaquon Johnson, Khyrie Kelly, Eeleeza Korir, King Motherspau, Harper Tallmore, Gavin Tallmore, Peyton Tallmore and Lashonda B. Joseph. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lillian Pierre Johnson. 

Pallbearers will be Alfred Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, Jr., Everette Batiste, Jr., Shadrick Alexander, Treyvias Alexander, and Taylon Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frederick Castille and Joseph Johnson.
