New Iberia - A funeral service will be held at Highland Baptist Church, 607 Victory Drive, in New Iberia, at 2:00 pm on Friday April 10, 2026, for Robert Neil (Bob) White, who passed away on April 4, 2026, in New Iberia. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am at the church and continue until the time of service.
Interment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, in New Iberia.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend. He was born in West Helena, Arkansas to Goldman Oscar and Emogene Shirley White on January 8, 1938. Shortly after, the Whites moved to New Orleans, where Bob grew up. He later moved to New Iberia where he met his future bride, Annette Farrar. They were married on September 12, 1959. After several years of Annette’s faithful praying and urging, Bob gave His life to the Lord. His faith in the Lord became the most important thing to him. He wasn’t a perfect man, but strived to live his life to please the Lord. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in New Iberia where he served the Lord faithfully for many years.
Bob lived his life with all the energy and passion one could have. He loved his family and worked hard to provide for them in every way possible. He began his career working on the slab with Wilson Downhole and worked his way up to regional manager. In February 1978, after 23 years with Wilson, Bob took the step of faith to start his own business, Quail Tools. He began with just a few tools and a tremendous desire to succeed. His goal was to establish a rental tool company dedicated to quality tools, dependable service, and commitment to customers. Bob’s uncanny ability to make something out of nothing is a tribute to his dogged determination and work ethic. He worked tirelessly for many years to get the business up and running. The business grew from an old barn behind his house into one of the biggest oilfield rental tool companies, growing to 7 operational facilities across the continental United States. He had a certain way of doing things that soon became known as the “Quail way.” His relentless pursuit of excellence and attention to detail served him well and helped to make Quail Tools a force to be reckoned with.
He demanded much from himself and much from those who worked for him. He had the unique ability to get people to reach their highest potential and desired to see his loved ones succeed in whatever they did. In his spare time, Bob loved working with his hands. He especially loved working on his property and making it an oasis for others to enjoy. All of his grandkids have cherished memories with him at the property where he would take them for rides on the 4-wheeler or tractor. He also loved woodworking and all of his projects were created with pride and excellence. Many of Bob’s family have received his personally handcrafted items which will be treasured forever. In 1986, Bob and Annette established a non-profit foundation with the distinct purpose of spreading the gospel and helping those in need. He and Annette spent much of their time praying for others and praying for how God would have them invest the money that He entrusted to them. Many lives have been touched through their faithfulness to the Lord in using them to make a difference for His kingdom. The foundation will continue for years to come.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 66 years, Annette F. White; sister Fran Judice; two sons Marc White (Nancy), Keith White (Liz); 5 grandchildren Lana Prejean (Colby), Kalli Cardona (David), Barrett White, Sarah Bozeman (Brennan), Katie Richardson (Nathan); 6 great grandsons Micah Prejean, Hunter Prejean, Liam Cardona, Jack Richardson, James Richardson, John Robert Richardson, with one great granddaughter, Annie Bozeman, on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents Goldman and Emogene Shirley White; siblings Wayne White, Janet Gilreath, and Glenda Caruso; and granddaughter Emily Raegan White.
Pallbearers will be Barrett White, Colby Prejean, David Cardona, Nathan Richardson, Brennan Bozeman, and Micah Prejean. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne White and Chuck White.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to Ben E Factor Foundation, 7837 Main Hwy, St. Martinville, LA 70582.
