Breaux Bridge - A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Robert "Bobby" Joseph Priester, 76, who passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Maison de Lafayette.

Bobby's life will be celebrated with visitations held at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Pastor Oltia Broussard will officiate at the funeral service.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

We, the family of Robert "Bobby" Priester, mourn his loss - yet celebrate his life. He went to meet his Lord at the age 76 just shy of his 77th birthday. He married Mary "Janie" Priester on August 30, 2003.

Our "Bobby" was born in Madison Township Clarion County to Horace, Bruce Priester and Ruth Eleanor Hughey on August 30, 1949.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Jarett Hobbs (Pauline) and Jason Hobbs (Allison); daughters, Laura Signorelli (Ahmed) and Betty Jo Canandy; sisters, Shirley P Kougher, Sandy P. McCoy, Helen P. Phillips, Cindy P Burns and Amy P Richardson; grandchildren, Jace Hobbs, Rhett Hobbs, Ethan and Emma Hobbs, Orson & Lilia Siddiqui and Brock Priester; great-grandchild, Lacie Priester; and his mother-in-law, Theresa Falls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ruth Hughey Priester; son; Robert L. Priester; grandson, RJ Priester; and his brothers, George "Jake" Priester, John Priester and Carl Priester.

Pallbearers will be Jarett Hobbs, Jason Hobbs, Jace Hobbs, Jeremy Prejean, Josh Prejean, Aaron Prejean, Victor Billiot and Ahmed Siddiqui.

He worked in the steel industry for 33 years before his journey to the South where he continued his life's real work - being a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joys were absolutely being with his grandchildren; gathering with his "Crazy, Cajun family" and staying deeply connected with his family in Pennsylvania.

He also found happiness in the simple things like fishing, sitting around "Me Maw's" kitchen table playing cards with us, his favorite in-laws. He was an avid Bingo attendee. He was a VIP, "Very Important Patron" at the Waffle House. "The Bob Special" was prepared before he even got out of his car and before he even had a chance to be seated - his meal was hot and ready for him to eat!

Bobby's heart was as big as the world and he would give the very shirt off his back.

He truly lived as a man on his own terms with "Canaille" aka mischievous and character. He was selfless, caring, thoughtful, humorous, loving, supportive, kind-hearted, devoted, friendly, gentle and generous.
