Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Robert Neil Sonnier, Sr., 82, who passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Tuesday.

Deacon Perry Guidry will officiate at the funeral service. The reader will be Ava Mouton.

Robert was a proud United States Navy veteran whose life reflected courage, humility, and devotion to others. He answered the call to serve his country with honor, and his service remained a source of pride throughout his life.

Robert spent his life dedicated to his craft as a diesel mechanic, making significant contributions to the industrial diesel industry. His hands were skilled and creative, known among friends and family as someone who could build and fix nearly anything.

He cherished moments spent with his beloved late wife, Gloria, enjoying traveling, hunting, fishing, and camping. Robert had a passion for playing pool, a testament to his lively spirit, being an active member of the APA Billiard Pool, Auxiliary Coast Guard, and VFW of Breaux Bridge. In his leisure time, he found joy in the intricacies of remote-control boats and planes, which became a wonderful hobby that reflected his inventive nature.

As we gather to celebrate Robert's life, we invite all who knew him to share in remembrance of a man whose generosity and creativity touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Sonnier, Robert (Daria Latiolais) Sonnier, and Christopher Sonnier; and his brother, Ronnie (Cheryl) Sonnier.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Comeaux Sonnier; and his parents, Joseph and Marie Levie Faucheaux Sonnier.
