New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Robin Dressel, 56, who passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Alexander Albert will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Mens Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Robin was born on November 20, 1961 to the late Russel Dressel and Rose Mae Boudreaux Dressel. She was a graduate of Loreauville High School and the University of Louisiana Lafayette, and was a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years at Magnolia Elementary School in New Iberia. Robin enjoyed camping, and taking care of everyone, especially her parents and her students. Survivors include her brother, Kavin J. Dressel and wife Sandy of New Iberia; best friend, Rebecca Guilbeau of New Iberia, LA; uncles, Terrel Dressel and wife Juliette of New Iberia, Alton Dressel and wife Greta of Delcambre; sister-in-law, Priscilla Tate Dressel of St. Martinville; nephews, nieces, and godchildren, Brian Dressel, Meleah Guilbeau, Kendall Dressel, Jr., Robert Camors, Adam Marks, Katie Harris, Chelsey Capdeboscq, Hillary Champagne, Lori Ann Marks, Annie Rae Marks Viator; and great nieces, Sophie Bourg, Gabrielle Bourg, and Avery Dark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kendall Dressel, Sr. Pallbearers will be Brian Dressel, Miles Gaspard, Terry Dressel, Kendall Dressel Jr., Seth Guilbeau, and Josh Guilbeau. Honorary pallbearers include Terrel Dressel, Alton Dressel, Robert Camors, Nathan Guilbeau, and Meleah Guilbeau. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-365-3331) is in charge of arrangements.
