Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2006, in Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge for Rodney Joseph Fontenot, 73, who died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at his residence in Parks. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Survivors include his wife, Melba Cormier Fontenot of Parks; three sons, Gene Fontenot and his wife, Lisa of Jeanerette, Jon Fontenot and his wife, Mitzi of Longview, TX, and Jared Fontenot of Parks; three daughters, Jacqueline ""Jackie"" ?Landry and her husband, Tim, Carolyn ""Sue"" Hebert and her husband, Charles, Sr., all of Jeanerette, and Melissa Cormier of Parks; two brothers, Lee Fontenot and his wife, Carolyn of Bayou Vista and Maurice Fontenot, Jr., and his wife, Gail of New Iberia; three sisters, Joyce Saucier of Franklin, Bernadine F. Saucier and Bertha Verrett and her husband, Melvin, all of Stephensville; nineteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, David W. and Jo Jo Fontenot; one daughter, Janice F. Perez; his parents, Maurice and Olive Reed Fontenot, Sr.; two brothers, Leo and Urell Fontenot and a granddaughter, Misty Boudreaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Thursday and continue at 7:00 a.m. on Friday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Reggie Fontenot, Broc Fontenot, Charlie Hebert, II, Trey Cormier, Skipper Thibodeaux, and Gage Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene, Jon and Jared Fontenot, Tim Landry and Charlie Hebert, I. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
