Rogers Broussard

New Iberia - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Rogers J. Broussard, 92, along with his wife of nearly 68 years, Margie. Rogers passed on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, and Margie on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Pellerin Funeral Home.

Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Iberia Honor Guard.

Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate.

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Broussard was born on November 1, 1930, to the late Henry and Marie Bouterie Broussard. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines, during the Korean War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor. Mr. Broussard retired from the oilfield, and he enjoyed camping all over the United States with his wife, Margie.

Since he was 12 years old, Mr. Broussard had a passion for building and flying model airplanes. He along with his best friends/teammates, Ronnie Robicheaux and Charles Lanza, successfully competed in several national competitions.

Survivors include his sons, Kenny Broussard (Barbara) and Jeff Broussard (Pam); grandchildren, Ashley Broussard, Blair Broussard, Kimi Broussard, Heather Degeyter (Cory), Lara Segura (Trent), and Jonathan Fields (Tabitha).

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Yvette Harvey, Yvonne Brummet and Evelyn Davis; and a brother, Richard Broussard.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
