St. Martinville A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon, on Friday, February 7, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Ronald Joseph Blanchard, Jr., 52, who passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, and continue at 8:00 am until 11:30 am on Friday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday. Deacon Brian Wynn will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Lorraine Girard and Lacy Devillier. Gift Bearers will be Emily Blanchard and Skye Touchet. Ronald enjoyed working and as a pastime he loved fishing and going to the horse races. He cherished the many times spent with his family and friends. He is survived by his son, Tyson Blanchard and his wife, Lacey, of Carencro; his daughter, Brittany Blanchard Aucoin and her husband, Jodie, of Judice; his mother, Maryann Blanchard Granger of St. Martinville; three sisters, Yevette Patin and her husband, Mitchelle Patin, Sr., of Breaux Bridge, Bernadette Girard and her husband, James, of Breaux Bridge, and Yvonne Guidry of St. Martinville; six grandchildren, Lexi Aucoin, Dylan Aucoin, Austyn Aucoin, Skye Touchet, Emily Blanchard, and Dylan Blanchard; his godparents, Robert Bob Theriot and Gerry Jones; and three godchildren, Justin Champagne, Mitchelle Patin, Jr., and Lacy Devillier. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Joseph Blanchard Sr.; his grandparents, Pierre and Evelyn Theriot and Anthony and Bernadette Blanchard; and his brother-in-law, Keith Buffalo Guidry. Pallbearers will be Nolis Champagne, Mitchelle Patin, Jr., Mitchelle Patin, Sr., Morris Yogi Dauphine, Tyson Blanchard, and Jodie Aucoin.
