Ronald James Broussard, Jr. was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on August 29, 1967, and was a 1987 graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. An avid outdoorsman, Ronald loved hunting and going to the camp, which he affectionately named the “Hilton on the River.” He was so grateful to the Shelley Family from the Port Sulphur area for all of the hunting trips, especially the alligator hunt where he harvested his first gator. A talented billiards player, Ronald shot league several times a week at Emerald’s and Extreme and played in pool tournaments on the weekends. Ronald was very generous and always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved spending time with his wife, Laura, who was his high school sweetheart. Ronald loved watching LSU play with his late best friend, Greg Bodin; we can only imagine the tailgating they are doing together now!
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Laura Langlinais Lomenick Broussard; stepsons, Otis Lomenick IV (Alyssa) and Noah Lomenick; and granddaughter, Winsley Lomenick. He will also be missed by Koba and Sweeti.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Lilly Antoinette Broussard; brother, Micha Milliman; sister-in-law, Jill Langlinais; stepson, Braton Maturin; best friend since childhood, Greg Bodin; father, Ronald J. Broussard, Sr.; mother, Cheryl Milliman; and grandparents, Lilly Armentor Hammons, Albert Kern, Jr., Billeus Broussard, and Inez Latiolais Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Otis Lomenick IV, Noah Lomenick, Rusty Broussard, Noah Broussard, Cruz Broussard, and Kent Langlinais.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the family.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the many people who tried to save Ronald’s life immediately following his heart attack, and the efficient staff of IMC Emergency Department; and to LOPA for being so kind. Laura would like to personally thank all of Ronald’s friends (you know who you are); you all made a difference in his life!
Rest in peace, Ronald. Your work here is done.
