Youngsville - Ronnie Finley, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Youngsville. He was born on November 21, 1949, in Crowville, to the late Ernest and Lenora Welch Finley. Ronnie had a remarkable life filled with adventure, dedication, and love.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. 

Pastor Linton Broussard, of the Bayou Church, will officiate.

A longtime area resident, Ronnie worked for Halliburton for over 35 years. His work took him to various locations around the globe, including New Iberia, Indonesia, Africa, Nigeria, China, and Iraq. Ronnie's commitment and unwavering dedication to his profession earned him the respect and admiration of his peers.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ronnie was a man of many passions and interests. He was an avid golfer and experienced an incredible milestone on June 11, 2023, when he achieved his first hole-in-one. The joy he felt in that moment was amazing. He also loved playing softball with friends and loved ones. Ronnie embraced life's simple pleasures and cherished every moment shared with his family.

Ronnie will be fondly remembered for his strength of character. He faced life's challenges head-on, exhibiting resilience during difficult times. His tenacity served as an inspiration to those around him. Friends and family looked up to Ronnie as a pillar of support and guidance.

Never one to shy away from lending a helping hand or offering words of wisdom, Ronnie left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. His presence could uplift the spirits of those around him in an instance.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Barbara Spencer Finley; children Chad Finley (Lilly), Hope Denise Knight (Scott), and Ernest Finley; grandchildren, Kayla Romero, Kelsey Romero, Payton Finley (Alli), Ariel Finley, Alex Finley, Jace Finley, Ben Romero, Luke Romero, Kohl Finley, and Eli Finley; great grandchildren, Bennett Seneca, Maddox Finley, Isaiah Cope, Jonah Cope, Eloise Finley, and Charli Finley; sisters, Kathy Smith (George), Ernestine Latham (Tom), and Lisa Coley (Kevin).

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Finley, and Don Finley.

Ronnie Finley leaves behind a legacy built on strength, love, and devotion. He will forever be held in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life's journey. May his family and friends find solace in their cherished memories.
