Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 5, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks for Rose Marie Jones, 82, who passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm on Friday. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. on Friday by Margaret Carron. Rev. Nicholas DuPre' will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reader will be Tanya Cormier. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Rose was born in St. Martin Parish and was well-known at Breaux Bridge Senior High School, where she was a cook for over 40 years. She loved baking and was known for her delicious cakes, sugar cookies, meat pies, and chess pies. Rose loved taking care of all the babies in the family. As a pastime she enjoyed dancing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Polite Jones, Jr.; son, Stanley Jones; daughters, Sandra "Peggy" Mercier and Sally Skipper; brothers, McCalvin Paul and John Paul (Tina); sister, Margaret Carron (Gervis); grandchildren, Lashonda Malveaux (Rickey), Chastity Roberts (Lucas) , Shanell Flugence, Todd'Nisha Skipper, Stanley O. Jones (Espree), Sendall Jones (Dianna), Amber Bernard (Jakarl) and De'Shontae Mouton; and great grandchildren, Taylor Malveaux, Tristen Malveaux, Alaysia Roberts, Khamani Roberts, Dasani Flugence, Kamden Flugence, Mason Sampy, Kaison Noel, and DeAhni Mouton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Enola LeBlanc Paul; sisters, Helen Paul and Marjorie Joe Vaughner; and three nephews. Pallbearers will be Stanley O. Jones, Sendall Jones, Tristen Malveaux, Khamani Roberts, Lucas Roberts, and Rickey Malveaux.
