Rose M. Olivier

Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on August 9, 2022, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Arnaudville for Rose Marie Olivier, 86, who left this earth to walk with Jesus in Heaven on August 5, 2022 at her residence in Arnaudville, surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Arnaudville on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 1 PM.

A rosary will be recited at 12 noon.

Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery.

Rose was born and raised in Arnaudville, LA. She was a strong-willed and an independent woman who enjoyed working. During her working years she was an Avon representative and was employed as an inspector at Martin Mills in St. Martinville, LA, for many years. Rose also owned and operated a fabric store, House of Fabrics, in Arnaudville for a few years prior to retirement.

Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She had a generous spirit and lovely personality who will always be remembered for her gift of giving unselfishly to others. Rose always kept herself busy; could never sit still for long. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting ceramics, gardening and canning vegetables and playing Po-Ke-No with friends. She also enjoyed fishing and camping with her beloved husband, Joe.  Rose was very proud of her two grandchildren and supported them by attending all their school activities and events as they grew up. There existed no greater joy than spending her life in support of their dreams.

One of her passions was family and she dedicated her life to them. She always looked forward to preparing Sunday dinner for her family. She was an excellent cook. For years, she made sacrifices to ensure her family got what they needed.

Rose loved her life and was happy with all the things that she accomplished. She will be sadly and deeply missed, but we will cherish her memories forever.

Rose married the love of her life, Vioris "Fra" Olivier on April 23, 1955. Together, they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together until his passing. They are reunited once again.

She is survived by her children, Debra A. Olivier of Arnaudville, LA; Karen O. Babineaux and husband Charles of Carencro, LA; two grandchildren, Brennen Joseph McCullough of Dallas, TX, and Michael Joseph Zanetti of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Beulah Broussard of Maurice, LA; one brother, Reggis Marks of Broussard, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roaul Marks and Sidonie Periou; two brothers, Lawrence "Peto" Marks and Adolph "Joe" Marks.

Pallbearers will be Charles Babineaux, Brennen McCullough, Michael Zanetti, Robert Miller, Larry Marks, and Michael Broussard.

Honorary pallbearer will be Reggis Marks.

The family would like to give special thanks Mrs. Brenda Dugas of Auntie Em's In-Home Care and to the nurses and staff of Hospice and Pallative Care for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Mrs. Rose Oliver during her time of need.
