Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for RoseMary “Marie” Potier Davis, 66, who passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Friday, April 28th, from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 AM on Friday.

Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.

RoseMary “Marie” Potier Davis was born on April 27, 1956, to the late Clarence and Ceola B. Potier in Lafayette, LA. She was the middle child of three (3) siblings.

She departed this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 7:18 PM surrounded by her husband and children. RoseMary was married to her loving husband Richard Isaac Davis for thirty-two (32) years. Her siblings included the late Clayton Potier and the late Cynthia Potier Sam. She was a cancer survivor for thirty-two (32) years. Her hobbies were cooking, talking on the phone, watching her stories daily, going to the casino, helping out family and friends in any way she could, participating in yearly cancer walks and spending time with her loving grandson.

Rose leaves behind two (2) daughters Ceola “Marcie” Potier (DeQuincy Calais) and Ikeisha R. Davis (Tray Arceneaux), two (2) sons Richard (Tina) Johnson and Issac “Boo” Antione and one (1) grandson Konner Calais who she adored and spoiled (Konner was the light and joy of her life), two (2) aunts (God mother) Natalie Gaines, AnnaMae Singleton and one (1) uncle James Potier; God-children Kasha Joseph, Sharid Joseph, Briana Sam, Kaisley Alexander, Theodore Edwards. Mother-in-Law Mary Mathews, Brothers-in-Law Earl Sam, Earnest (Linda) Davis, Broderick and Karl Mathews, nephew Nick (Khea) Sam, niece Briana (Ziaire) O’Brien and one great-niece Sophia O’Brien. She also leaves Savannah (Maxie) Lawrence who was personally asked to take Marie and her sister under her wings when her mother passed away, her cousin/sisters Patty (Walter) Gibson, Peggy (Bobby) Sonnier, Sheila (Craig) Wiltz, Veronica Martin and Malane Morris along with cousin/brothers Shelton (Marcella) Amest, Michael (Cherie) Amest, Howard Amest, Randy (Marla) Amest, Dennis (Priscilla) Potier and Archie (Loretta) Joseph, Esq.

Rose also had four (4) childhood friends whom she loved and adored dearly, Yvette (Kenneth) Joseph, Zena Sylvester, Beverly Celestine and the late Connie Williams.

She was employed by Diocese of Lafayette for twenty-seven (27) years at both Holy Family and Saint Leo Seton Catholic School. Rose was best known for greeting the staff, students and parents with a beautiful smile and a warm hug. Everyone loved and adored “Ms. Rose” for her kind and loving spirit. Her favorite sayings for her wonderful coworkers who were more like family was, “Cafeteria ladies we rock. Smile”.

Rose is proceeded in death by her parents Clarence and Ceola B. Potier, her grandparents Edgar and Eunice Broussard, sister Cynthia Potier Sam, brother Clayton Potier, aunts Alma Hudson, Marjorie (Horace) Joseph, Agnes (Joseph Caffery) Amest, Theresa Stansberry, Connie St. Julian, Sophia Calais, Ursula Potier, uncles Alton (Hilda) Broussard, Gilbert Potier, Calvin Potier, Rufus Potier and Kellis Potier.
