Rosianne Durand

St. Martinville - Devoted wife of Edward and loving mother of Howard, Rosianne Angelle Durand, 65, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her residence in St. Martinville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a .m., on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, with inurnment following on Monday, November 29th at 2:30 p.m. St. Michael Cemetery. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Mrs. Durand was a parishioner of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Choir, as well as the Acadian Memorial French Choir, and served as past Regent of the Court of St. Martin Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a long-standing member of Marthas Guild, served as the Secretary of the Kiwanis of St. Martinville, a charter member and President-Elect of St. Martin Civitan Club, and the Civitan Area Director of Magnolia District Area 5. Many years ago, while living in California , she served as the Eagle Scout Coordinator in Ventura County . Rosianne was devoted to and loved by her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a skilled artisan, passable carpenter, and a valuable member of her community, who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was the devoted wife of Edward B. Durand of St. Martinville; loving mother of Howard C. Durand and his wife, Kristine; one brother, Warner Angelle; one sister, Rochelle Boudreaux; and her granddaughter, Noelani Durand. She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Rosy M. Gutekunst Angelle; and a sister, Drusilla Dugas. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11 a .m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 7 a .m. until 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
