Roy Paul Champagne

St. Martinville A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Roy Paul Champagne, 57, who passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm on Friday, and continue at 8:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Paige Poirier and Katie Champagne. Gift Bearers will be Sumer Poirier and Alise Champagne. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Roy was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and baseball. He was a huge fan of the New Orleans Saints and enjoyed watching them play. He is survived by his wife, Linda Champagne; his son, Brian Broussard (Champagne); his daughter, Crystal Nichole Champagne; three brothers, Ronald (Brenda) Champagne, Gary (Simone) Champagne, and Mike (Anna Mae) Champagne; and his sister, Andrea (Edward) Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Paul Champagne and Olive Marie Bourgeois Champagne; his nephew, Eddy Thomas; his niece, Shannon Champagne; his aunt, Elsie Stelly Champagne; and his grandparents. Pallbearers will be Ronald Champagne, Gary Champagne, Michael Champagne, Ron Champagne, Buck Champagne, and Keith Poirier.
