Roy Bernard Crews, III

New Iberia – A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, for Roy Bernard Crews, III, 73, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Inurnment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.

Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Wednesday.

A resident of New Iberia, Roy Bernard Crews, III was born on April 1, 1953, to the late Roy Bernard Crews, Jr. and Zoe Marie Laurent Crews. He was a 1971 graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia, then obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of New Orleans. He worked as a Social Services Analyst for the State of Louisiana for many years and was active in the political scene. Roy enjoyed traveling, checking out car auctions, and loved his dogs and cats.

Mr. Crews is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Jane Bell Crews and Hartley Ray, Jr. of Lafayette; companion, Etoya James of Ponchatoula; stepson, Jeffrey Doredant; nephew, Dr. David Hilton Ballard (Heather) of Chesterfield, Missouri; and great-nephews, Brock Ballard, Beau Ballard, and Jack Ballard.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Rita Schmidt Crews; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Crews and Dewey Ballard; and stepson, Andrew Doredant.

Roy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
