Russell Derise

Jeanerette – Private services will be held at a later date for Russell John Derise, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Derise was born on October 14, 1948, to the late Dewey Daniel Derise, Sr. and Anna Aucoin Derise. He worked for J&L Fabrication and Cameco Fabrication, in Jeanerette. Mr. Derise enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Annette LeBlanc and Elvis James Derise; sister, Shirley Mickels; grandchildren, Ashley Sonnier (Josh), Amber LeBlanc, Jessica LeBlanc, and Donald J. Derise; great grandchildren, Nyla Sonnier, Avery Sonnier, Cohen LeBlanc, and Kinsley LeBlanc; and his former wife, Roenna “Sue” Derise.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Joseph Derise; and brothers, Donald Derise, and Dewey Daniel Derise, Jr.
