Sally Pesson Babineaux

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, for Sally Pesson Babineaux, 79, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Lafayette.

Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.

She will be laid to rest with her beloved Donald at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Tuesday.

Sally Pesson Babineaux was born on August 15, 1946, to the late Sidney Pesson and Jewel Segura Norton. She loved traveling and camping. As a member of the Good Sam Club, Sally and her late husband, Donald, shared countless adventures together, exploring the beauty of the United States in their RV. An avid animal lover, Sally found great joy in the companionship of the many cats and dogs she loved through the years.

Sally embraced the simple joys of life. She loved reading, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and taking long walks in Moncus Park.

Sally was loved and very well cared for at Brookdale, the place she wanted to be. Sally's gentle presence will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Babineaux is survived by brothers-in-law, Mark Broussard, Sr. (Linda), and Sonny Babineaux (Jane); sisters-in-law, Dee Babineaux and Judy Boudeloche; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Donald Wayne Babineaux; brother, Charles “Chuck” Pesson; father-in-law, A.D. Babineaux, Sr.; mother-in-law, Gloria Dugas Babineaux; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Paul “Kenny” Babineaux, and Philip Boudeloche, Sr.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Brookdale for excellent care over the last seven years; and special appreciation to Sally’s sitters, Crystal Richard, Brenda Campbell, and Cynthia Alexander for compassionate care.

Sally leaves behind a world more colorful than she found it. She will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
