Sarah Kaufman

St. Martinville - Graveside services will be held at ;4 p.m. , on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Menachim Aveilim Cemetery (Jewish Cemetery), 200 W. University Ave, Lafayette, Louisiana, for Sarah Rachael Kaufman, 30, who passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, and continue at 7:00 am until ;3:00 p.m ;on Friday. Sarah was actively involved with the Miles Perret Center. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding 4-wheelers. Sarah treasured the many moments she could spend with her family and friends and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by her father, Terry Kaufman of St. Martinville; two sons, Ethan Duplichen of Lafayette and Laik Kaufman of St. Martinville; her sister, Kathryn "Katie" (Jessie) Martin of St. Martinville; her significant other, Jeremiah Johnson of Breaux Bridge; paternal grandmother, Betty Beech of Maryland; maternal grandmother, Anne Deaver of Pensacola, FL; step grandmother, Barbara Kaufman of Minneapolis; and her niece and nephew, Lily and Rivers Martin of St. Martinville. She is preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Kish Kaufman; paternal grandfather, Samuel Kaufman; maternal grandfather, Carl Kish; and maternal step grandfather, James Deaver. Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Johnson, Jessie Martin, Paul Martin, Chris Martin, Aaron Duplantis, and Ian McGill. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Iberia Medical Center, Heart of Hospice, and Dr. David A. Rinaldi and his staff, for the compassionate care and attention given to her.
