Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Shirlene T. Broussard Badeaux, 64, who passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at her home in St. Martinville. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brian Harrington will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
Shirlene Theresa Broussard Badeaux was born on August 11, 1955 to the late Lothard and Ouida Broussard. She was well loved, had a lot of friends, and was very outspoken. She enjoyed watching butterflies, and playing bingo and pokeno. Shirlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Badeaux is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Raymond Badeaux, Jr.; sons, Raymond "Bae Bae" Badeaux, III (spouse Charmin “Tut” Badeaux), Broc J.Badeaux (spouse Brittany Badeaux), Steve Duhon, Jr.; daughter, Shelly Carter (spouse Keithon Carter); sisters, Theresa Broussard and Dale Maturin; brothers, Warren Gaspard (spouse Sandra Gaspard), Nolan Gaspard (spouse Brenda Gaspard), Nellan Gaspard, and Jessie Broussard; grandchildren, Railey Badeaux, Emma Badeaux, Broc "B.J." Badeaux, Jr., Addison Badeaux, Chelsea Duhon, Erica Boutte, Kayden Carter, Jayden Carter, Steve Duhon, III, Dylan Duhon, and Cody Wardlaw; great-grandchildren, Zachary Touchet, Xander and Madelynn Theriot, and Levi Duhon; and her gossip partner, Elly Romero.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, Carrol, Robert and Elaine Gaspard, Joe, Norma Jean, Laura, Ernest and Allen Roy Broussard; brother-in-law, Wilbert Maturin, sisters-in-law, Juanita and Eula Gaspard; mother-in-law, Cevelia (and Earl) Juneau; and father-in-law, Raymond Badeaux, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Badeaux III, Broc Badeaux, Keithon Carter, Bryce Morvant, Craig Stevens, and Joe Gaspard.
