Cecilia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am, on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Shirley Ann Williams Alexander, 42, who passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home 7 am until 10:30 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am. Rev. Peter Emusa will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Shirley was a 2008 graduate of the University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Child and Family Studies and was employed by S.M.I.L.E. for 14 years. Shirley was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women to Women Social Club and the Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Byron Lamel Alexander of Breaux Bridge; her father, George Williams; her son, Brett Sirham Alexander (Vanna Baltazar) of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Taylor Chanel Alexander and Trinity Lane Alexander, both of Cecilia; four brothers, Leroy Williams, Sr. and Curley Williams, both of Cecilia, Darry Williams (Magdelena) of Arnaudville, and Jack Williams (Ocilla) of Cecilia; two sisters, Dianna Williams (Everette) of Cecilia, Nicole Seraile (Ricardo, Sr.) of Opelousas; and her granddaughter, Ivorie Rose Alexander of Breaux Bridge. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Borel Williams; her brother, Larry Williams; and her godmother, Nola Durall. Pallbearers will be Cornell Zeno, Olies Broussard, Everette Ledet, Edward George, Wendell Charles, and Jason Willis.
