Shirley Hulin Viator

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, for Shirley Hulin Viator, 89, who passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.

Msgr. J. Robert Romero will be the Celebrant and Deacon Durk Viator will assist.

Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday, from 8:00 am until 9:45 am.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:30 pm on Monday, at Pellerin Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong area resident, Mrs. Viator was born on January 29, 1936, to the late Aurelien and Anita Romero Hulin. She enjoyed traveling and camping across the United States, with her late husband, and taking pictures. However, Mrs. Viator’s greatest love was for her family, especially her grandchildren for they were her heart. She also had a deep love and affection for pets. Mrs. Viator will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her daughters, Katie Viator Landry (Ricky) of Youngsville and Jessica Viator Devillier (Stephen) of New Iberia; grandchildren, Ricky Landry, II, Ciara Mae Boutte, Seth David Boutte (Shayne), and Grace Katherine Boutte; great grandchildren, Carter Romero, Kolston Boutte, Kayben Romero, and Kaizlee Romero; niece, Ave G. Laperouse; and her beloved dog, “Lexie”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jessie “Bubba” Viator; Jamie David Viator; sister, Anna Belle H. Guillotte; and a brother, Wilfred “Pie” Hulin.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Landry, II, Seth Boutte, Chris Champagne, Brian Michaud, Denis Delahoussaye, and Don Delahoussaye, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers include Don Delahoussaye, Sr. and Rayward Fremin, Jr.
