Stanley G. Dwyer

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Stanley G. Dwyer, 87, who passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 3:30 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday evening by the Knights of Columbus.

Father Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Danielle Lute and Ashley Young. Gift Bearers will be Sylvie Lute and Jayden Soileau.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.

Stanley honorably served in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the values of duty and service. His strong character was reflected not only in his military service but also in his deep devotion to his faith as a long-time parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he found solace and community. Stanley cherished time spent visiting and talking with family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Kirk Dwyer (Sharon); daughter, Karen Young (Roger); brothers, Raymond Dwyer (Amber), Michael Dwyer (Debbie) and Mark Dwyer (Georgette); sisters, Judy Dwyer and Linda Landry (Gerald); grandchildren, Danielle Lute (Colby), Ashley Young and Kirk Dwyer, Jr. (Rebecca); and great-grandchildren, Sylvie Lute, Avery Lute, Mazie Lute, Anthony Dwyer and Lillian Dwyer.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Renella Thibodeaux Dwyer; and his parents, Stanley Dwyer and Yuline Marie Castille Dwyer.

Pallbearers will be Kirk Dwyer, Jr., Brian Huval, Mark Dwyer, Ryan Dwyer, Raymond Dwyer, and Michael Dwyer.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Roger Young.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, for the compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided to their loved one.
