Susan Marie Cook

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Susan Marie Cook, 73, who passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in Lafayette. 

Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery.

Susan spent many years as an administrative assistant at ULL where she enjoyed helping students and faculty and being in an academic environment. Susan enjoyed taking road trips with her love, Fred, to spend as much time as she could with her 4 grandchildren, who loved their Mimi very dearly. She had a great love for being creative and enjoyed quilting, making stained glass, and gardening. You could often find her spending time with extended family playing rummy and scrabble until nobody could stay awake anymore. She was a kind soul and one of the most generous people you could ever hope to meet.

She is survived by her father, Joseph Theriot; stepmother, Anna Theriot; daughter, Sarah Boudreaux (Brandon); son, Benjamin Cook; grandchildren, Luke, Harrison, Everett and Charlotte Boudreaux; sister, Linda Lavergne; and brother-in-law, David Robinson. 

She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Bourque Theriot; and her sister, Melanie Robinson.
