A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Susan Elizabeth Landry Robinson was born on May 2, 1951, to the late Henry David "T-Bud" Landry Sr. and Mary Ruth "Tuttie" Peltier Landry. Her life was characterized by her strong Catholic faith, dedication to family, and love for the beauty of the world around her.
Throughout her career, she worked in administration at Consolata Nursing Home, where her caring spirit made a lasting impact on those she served. A graduate of Mt. Carmel Academy in 1969, Susan's education instilled in her a deep reverence for faith and the community, values which she carried throughout her life as a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Her commitment to her church was evident in her role as a member and treasurer of the Catholic Daughters, where she worked tirelessly to support her fellow parishioners and foster the church's mission.
Susan had a passion for gardening, where her love for flowers brought joy not only to her own life but also to the lives of those around her. Her garden was her sanctuary, filled with vibrant blooms that mirrored her lively spirit.
A talented seamstress, Susan poured her heart into every stitch, lovingly sewing clothes for her children during their formative years. Those cherished memories of her crafting in the warmth of her home are a testament to the nurturing soul she was.
However, nothing brought Susan greater happiness than the time she spent with her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and her face would light up with pure joy whenever they were near. Her home was a haven of laughter, love, and invaluable life lessons, where she imparted wisdom and tenderness to younger generations, shaping their lives with grace and affection.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her children, Brooke Leon (Klint), William Robinson (Debbie), and Erin Edwards (Anthony); siblings, Jeffrey Landry (Liz), and Mary Ruth Dugas (Kirk); grandchildren, Lauren and Brent Alleman, Jr., Konner, McKenzie, and Logan Leon, Kallie, Lexie, Cullin, Evan, and Liam Robinson, Zoe Robinson, Tahjannae, Monisha and D’laisia Edwards, and Anthony Edwards III; great grandchildren, Lyla and Nyla Meche, Addalynn and Ayden Alleman, Ryder Leon, Khalil Angelle, Kyson Dauphine, and Dallas Latigue (on the way).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Keith Robinson; niece, Rachelle Domingue; brothers, Henry David Landry II and Earl Landry; and a very dear friend, Ruth Landry.
The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana; Dr. Baker, and IMC 2nd floor nurses for extraordinary care and compassion; and to Charles Cambre and Kristi Carriere, who helped navigate us through this ordeal; you both went above and beyond to give us comfort, support and understanding. You are angels on earth.
Susan will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for her extraordinary spirit. May she rest in peace.
