Lydia – Arrangements are pending for Susie Owens Estelle, 67, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Susie Marie Owens Estelle was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on October 2, 1958, to the late Willis Owens, Sr. and Pearl Eskind Owens, and led a simple life. She cherished moments spent with her children and grandchildren, finding in their laughter and presence a source of endless happiness.
Susie found great joy in Thomas Kinkade puzzles and playing games on her phone. Her hands were never idle; she had a passion for flower gardening, with roses holding a special place in her heart—each bloom a testament to her patience and care.
Outdoors, Susie was spirited and adventurous. Fishing, boat riding, and riding 4-wheelers filled her days with excitement and connection to the natural world she so loved. Shrimping was not only a hobby but a delight she shared especially through enjoying the fruits of her labor, savoring shrimp with true enthusiasm. Faithful and loving, she was the ever-present side-seat driver alongside her husband, Buddy—her partner in life's many adventures and heartfelt journeys. She will be deeply missed.
Mrs. Estelle is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Buddy Estelle; her mother, Pearl Owens; children, Amy Lemelle (Lance), Felisha Estelle (Joseph Lacoste), Sydnee Estelle (Luke Smith), Kimberly Wright (Ricky), Jessica Estelle, William Estelle (Ashley), Buddy Estelle, Jr., and Bonnie Shaw; siblings, Geraldine Thibodeaux (Peter), Peggy Darcey (Rickey), Sally Battaglia (Drew), Willis Owens, Jr. (Ann), Luke Owens, Sr., and Bill Owens (Sharon); 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Bert Estelle; infant brother, Luke Joseph Owens; and sister-in-law, Joy Owens.
Pallbearers will be William Estelle, Sr., Buddy Estelle, Jr., Mason Chapman, Bobby Estelle, Lance Lemelle, Zailan Estelle, and Joe Lacoste.
Honorary pallbearers are Joseph Owens, Luke Owens, Sr., Peter Thibodeaux, Messer Stephens, Camdyn Stephens, and Dylan Shaw.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Allegiance Hospice for extraordinary care and compassion.
Susie’s laughter, love, and strength will remain in our hearts forever. May she rest in peace.
