Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Sylvia Ann Savoy, 61, who passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Fr. Donald Pousson will officiate at the Memorial Service. Sylvia worked as an insurance agent for Pellerin Life Insurance Company for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Unit of Parks - 289 and the 4th Monday Pokeno Club. Sylvia loved her dogs, Ginger, Spring, Scrape, Marty, Fussie, and Kayette; they were like her children. In her free time she enjoyed riding around and especially loved visiting many of our State Parks. She was a devoted and caring friend to many and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Sylvia is survived by her companion of 18 years, V.J. LeBlanc of Lafayette; her closest and dearest friend of 47 years, Janet Lasseigne of Parks; her aunt, Amy Russo of St. Martinville; and two cousins, Charlie Guidry and Jessie Cormier. She is preceded in death by her parents, Euton and Lena Guidry Savoy. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, with a recitation of the Rosary at 12 noon, followed by a brief memorial service led by the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
