New Iberia – A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Holy Family Cemetery, for Taren Marie Broussard, 59, who passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, after a brief illness.

Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.

Native and resident of New Iberia. Loving daughter, sister and aunt. Taren loved serving her country as a Third-Class Petty Naval Officer from 1992 -2005. Notable accolade in Naval Submarine School as YN/PN Advanced Administration serving on the Naval Ship USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbia College. After serving in the military, she attained her Licensed Practical Nurse certification. Taren enjoyed caring for others, especially her fur animals. She also loved spending time with family and friends at the beach. 

Taren is survived by her mother; Joyce Borel Broussard, sisters; Tasha Dugas (Cory Cormier), Tanna Viator (Dana), & Trudy Sturm (Tim), brother; Troy Broussard (fiancé’ Marlyn Gonzales), nieces; Emma Dugas, Kylie Viator, Kelsey Viator (Companion Reva Joubert), & Angel Moreaux (Fiancé’ Hero Welch), nephews; Brandon Moreaux (Tammy), Derrick Moreaux (Barbara), & Austin Moreaux, and beloved niece fur dog Rosie.

Taren was preceded in death by her father, Lester John Broussard, Maternal grandparents; Josephine (Rama) Vincent Borel, & Robert Joseph Borel, Paternal grandparents; Melvin Broussard, & Laura Landry Broussard, and nephew Ethan Dugas.

Pallbearers will be Troy Broussard, Oran Broussard, Kernnie Broussard, Brandon Moreaux, Derrick Moreaux, Dana Viator, & Tim Sturm.

Honorary Pallbearers are Austin Moreaux, & Cory Cormier
