Ted James Bodin

New Iberia – Memorial services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, for Ted James Bodin, 89, who passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Lafayette.

Deacon Joshua LeBlanc will officiate.

Ted will be laid to rest with his wife, Margie at Holy Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.

Ted James Bodin was born July 27, 1937, to the late Joseph and Amanda Rogers Bodin. He drove 18 wheelers and worked as a mechanic for Davis Motors prior to retirement. An avid outdoorsman, Ted loved riding out to Cypremort Point in his pickup truck, where he was most at peace while trawling, fishing, and cast netting. He cherished time spent with his family and will be deeply missed.

Mr. Bodin is survived by his children, Teddy L. Bodin (Karen), Maureen B. Touchet (Randy), and Shannon D. Bodin; grandchildren, Travis S. Bodin (Michelle) and Kandis B. Breaux (Heath); great-grandchildren, Avery Bodin, Brooklyn Bodin, Andy Breaux, Archer Breaux, and Ace Breaux; and a sister, Vickie Thibodeaux.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Margie LeBlanc Bodin; brothers, Lovelace Bodin (Fannie), and Lloyd Bodin (Wease); and in-laws, Eastin and Enez LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers are Teddy Bodin, Travis Bodin, Randy Touchet, John Gardner, Heath Breaux, Andy Breaux, Archer Breaux, and Ace Breaux.
