Breaux Bridge- A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Terrance Lee "Terry" Oberleitner, 69, who passed away on December 7, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Thursday, led by Juanita and Bob Louviere.

Gift bearers will be his daughters, Cassidy Oberleitner, Sarah Oberleitner Zimmermann, Rachel Oberleitner Bishop, and his sister, Cathy Oberleitner Treadway. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Terrance served with distinction, participating in missions that included notable assignments at the NASA Michoud Assembly Center in New Orleans where he was involved in testing restraint systems which were subsequently used in fighter jets and space shuttle missions. His military service was a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country, values he instilled in his family.

Born in Ohio, he quickly adopted Louisiana as his home state after completing his service in the Navy. He embarked on a forty year career in the Oil Industry working in capacities including District Manager and ending his career as the International Bid Manager for Patterson Services. Terry was unique in that he was able to blend his extensive field experience and knowledge of the industry with his technological aptitude in computers to design many important programs during his career.

Terrance had a passion for travel, exploring new places, and creating memories with the people he cherished. He never met a stranger, earning a reputation as a warm and welcoming friend to all. Throughout his journeys, he documented his adventures with a keen eye for detail, serving as the photographer and videographer for countless family trips, ensuring that every moment was captured for future generations.

Most important in his life were his children, his grandchildren, and his tuxedo cat Rudy, whom he loved dearly. He will always be remembered for saying to his children and his wife, "Don't panic, work the problem," and for his fun-loving, charismatic personality.

In honoring his memory, we invite friends and family to join together in celebration of a life well-lived, a life that touched many hearts, and a legacy that will forever endure in the stories and experiences shared by those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Melinda Granger Oberleitner; daughters, Cassidy Oberleitner, Sarah Oberleitner Zimmermann, and Rachel Oberleitner Bishop (Bill); sister, Cathy Treadway; grandchildren, Jake Zimmerman, Luke Zimmerman, Harper Zimmerman, Harrison Bishop, and Kellan Bishop; sisters-in-law, Penny Granger and Dr. June Granger Borazjani (Mohammed).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Oberleitner and Elma Fickle Oberleitner; brothers, Richard "Rick" and Patrick "Pat" Oberleitner; a nephew, Richie Oberleitner; and a brother-in-law, Dave Treadway.
