Thelma was born on May 11, 1964, in Saint Martinville. She was a vibrant soul who found joy in the simplest of pleasures. She had a green thumb and took great delight in tending to her beautiful flower beds. She embraced life fully, celebrating at local festivals and parades, and contributing her time at her part-time job at Sugar Oaks Golf Course. Thelma will be fondly remembered for her love of playing cards with family, and her competitive spirit often led her to find clever ways to 'cheat' during the family's annual Easter egg hunt. She cherished crabbing trips, dancing, and time spent enjoying boiled crawfish and crabs. Most importantly, Thelma adored her "love bugs," her daughters Jamie and Jessie, always prioritizing cherished moments spent with them. Those who knew her will remember her with a Coca-Cola in one hand and a cigarette in the other, a testament to her unfiltered love for life.
We gather to celebrate Thelma's life and the joy she brought into ours. She will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her daughters, Jamie Boudreaux and Jessie Boudreaux; mother, Philomene Champagne Prioux; her siblings, Sandra Prioux, Judy Prioux Simar (Dwight), Kenneth Prioux (Dawn), Sharon Prioux Stoute, and Rodney Prioux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harvey Prioux; niece, Jacqueline Broussard Ramirez; great-great niece, Rory Goo.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Prioux, Kenneth Prioux, Richard Boudreaux, Dwight Simar, Jason Broussard, Garth Stoute, Trevor Stoute, and Bill Friou.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Prioux, Judd Prioux, Jeremy Simar, Jacob Simar, Dexter Poche, Michael Goo, Gavin Goo, Ricky Landry, and Gerald "Su Su" Champagne.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Traditions Hospice (Chelsie, Shonda and Stephanie), Hope Hospice (Hali), her "bad b******", Bailey, Madison, Linzi, and Tori; and her siblings for the love and care given to her.
