Theresa F. Schexnayder

Cecilia - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia for Theresa F. Schexnayder, 76, who passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at her residence. 

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Cecilia on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of service at 10:30 am. 

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday evening. 

Father Gregory Cormier will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.

Known for her love of flowers and working in the yard, Theresa spent countless hours planting beautiful blooms that brought joy to all who saw them. She also enjoyed spending time shopping, going to the casino and getting her nails and hair done.

Her family meant everything to her and she spoiled her grandchildren every chance she got. Theresa was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her son, Daniel W. Schexnayder (Joyce); daughters, Melissa Huval, Carol Carpenter (Mike) and Bridget Robin; grandchildren, Kaylyn Knott (Garrett), Molli Lanclos (Caleb), Damon Trahan (Leeaja), Seth Robin, Tyler Robin (Tori), Hannah Schexnayder, Madison Schexnayder and Isabella Schexnayder; great-grandchildren, Keegan Robin, Maddox Crase, Valec Meche, Lunara Trahan, Adalyn Schexnayder, Ashton Knott, Bennett Robin, Liam Lanclos, Oakleigh Hardy and Baby Girl Trahan; sister, Eva Trahan; and brother, Chester Fritz.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Schexnayder; grandchild, Trent Schexnayder; son-in-law, Leon Huval; and parents, Wilbert Fritz, Sr. and Bella Roy Fritz.

Pallbearers will be Daniel W. Schexnayder, Michael Carpenter, Seth Robin, Tyler Robin, Garrett Knott and John O'Connor. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Trahan, Keegan Robin, Maddox Crase, Ashton Knott, Bennett Robin and Liam Lanclos.
