Thomas Dare Moore, Jr.

Parks - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Parks Baptist Mission Church in Parks, for Thomas Dare Moore, Jr., 84, who passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at St. Martinville Rehab Nursing Center in St. Martinville. Interment will follow at the Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Pastor Rob Burdeaux and Rev. Jesse Charpentier, will conduct the services. Thomas served in the South Pacific inWorld War II as a Marine. He worked as a shift foreman with City Service Oil for 35 years. He was married for 58 years to his wife, Bernetta H. Moore. Thomas enjoyed fishing, woodworking and LSU Football. Survivors include his wife, Bernetta H. Moore of St. Martinville; his sons, Timothy Dare Moore and his wife, Marilyn of Mandeville, LA, Daniel Gordon Moore and his wife, Nancy of Hartselle, AL, and Darryl Coleman Moore and his wife, Moana Kea of St. Martinville; his daughters, Linda Edwards and her husband, Jerry of Huntsville, AL, Bridget Marlene Ferguson and her husband, Tom of Denton, Texas and Patricia "Kathy" Landry of St. Martinville; his brother, Bobby Moore of Sulphur; and his sister, Margaret Baltis of McAllen, Texas; his 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Moore, Sr. and Cora Louise Coleman Moore;his daughter, Mary Anne Moore. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008 and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Christopher Dare Moore, Ethan Michael Moore, Ben Robert Moore, Logan Thomas Moore, Jerry Edwards, Jr., Jason Edwards and Jonathon Landry. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Ferguson, Zachary Moore, Joshua Moore, and Andy Edwards. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
