Thomas "Tommy" Dore

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at Pellerin Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, for Thomas “Tommy” Dore, 73, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, in Lafayette.

Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette.

Rev. Scott Dugas will officiate.

Visitation will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am on Thursday.

Thomas Dore was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on June 25, 1953. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he supported his late son, Scott, as a Boy Scout Leader all the way to Eagle Scout. In the early 90s, he and Scott did stats and filmed the Catholic High School football games.

A Jack of all trades, Tommy will be remembered by many from his role as former manager of Freez-O Restaurant for many years. He also sold insurance for MetLife, sold cars for J.P. Thibodeaux, and transitioned to the industrial supplies sector as a warehouse manager before retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, Tommy had a passion for fishing, golfing and camping. He was very selfless and always helping people in need. His granddaughter, Eliza was the apple of his eye, and Tommy cherished every moment spent with her. He will be deeply missed.

Mr. Dore is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Helen Hebert Dore; daughter, Sara Terro (Justin); granddaughter, Eliza Mae Terro; mother, Geraldine Veronica Viator Dore; bonus grandson, Nathan Magnussen; and numerous cousins.

Tommy was preceded in death by son, Scott Thomas Dore; and his father, Lawless Paul Dore.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Tommy’s caregivers with Right at Home, Niesha, Harry, and Dianne; and his doctors and nurses at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center for extraordinary care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana or Catholic High School in Tommy’s memory.
