Trey Douglas, age 50, of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1975, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Bill and Denise Douglas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Chris Poirrier of First Baptist Church of Lafayette.
Trey was a loving father, son, brother, companion, grandfather, and uncle. Trey loved his family fiercely. They were his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment he had with them. His love for his family was deep, unwavering, and evident in everything he did.
Trey was the kind of person who was always willing to help someone in need. He never hesitated to lend a hand, give his time, or simply be there when someone needed him. His generous heart and willingness to help others were among the qualities that made him so deeply loved.
Above all, Trey loved God. His faith was an important part of who he was, and he found strength in knowing that God was with him through every season of life.
Trey also loved his beloved fur baby, Kaia, who held a special place in his heart and was a cherished part of his family.
Trey leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and faith. Though his life was far too short, the love he gave his family and the memories he created with them will live on forever.
He is survived by his daughters, Hanna Pitre and her husband, Rudy, and Hydie Pellegran and her husband, Baylon; Hunter Douglas; his parents, Bill and Denise Douglas; his grandmother, Peggy Douglas; his sister, Nicole Smith and her husband, Ted; his companion, Courtney Landry and her children, Chase and Chelsea Landry; his grandchildren, Kinley, Cullen, Violet, and Damon Pitre; Kami, Kyler, and Karter Pellegran, who affectionately called him Poppy; and his niece and nephew, Ruby and Ruston Smith, who lovingly called him Trig. He also leaves behind extended family and countless others who loved him dearly.
Trey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Singleton, Carolyn Volentine, and Bill Douglas, Sr.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all those fortunate enough to know and love him.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Douglas, Baylon and Kyler Pellegran, Rudy, Cullen, and Damon Pitre, Chase Landry, and Ted and Ruston Smith.
