Tru Van Nguyen

Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Tru Van Nguyen, 60, who passed away on January 24, 2026.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

Rev. James Nguyen will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

Tru was a devoted and loving husband, father, and brother, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and laughter. He was a proud owner-operator in the restaurant industry, where he dedicated himself to providing exceptional service and creating joy for those around him. He was known for his determination and work ethic, qualities that inspired his family and friends. His ability to make people laugh will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Molly Tran Nguyen; sons, Johnathan Thai Nguyen, Matthew Tan Nguyen and Tyler Tuan Nguyen; brothers, Long Peter Nguyen (Theresa Tran) and Hoang Nguyen; and his sister, Kim Phung Nguyen (Tho).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Than Nguyen and Lien Mai; sister, Christina Thanh Nguyen; and his nephew, Nam "Popeye" Nguyen.
