Ulysus "James" Irvin Journet

Arnaudville - A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Ulysus "James" Irvin Journet, 29, who passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.

A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.

Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the funeral service. Reading the obituary will be Tanira Singleton. Scriptures will be read by Carolyn Votley and Tamika Journet Gordon.

Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.

Ulysus, known to many as "James" was born September 11, 1992. James was a very happy person. He greeted you with a smile and left you with that same smile. James was a cowboy for sure. He loved trail rides, riding horses with friends, and going to rodeos. Most importantly, he cherished his time with his family, especially his three children. When you saw James, you always saw his children by his side. He was a family man, hard worker, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Journet (Willie Carmouche, Jr.); father, Jimmy LeBlanc; significant other, Jasmine Jean Batiste; daughters, Maycie Journet and Madison Journet; son, Brylon Joseph; brothers, Joseph Journet, Kendrick Journet, Ronald Journet, Draycolby Journet, Brandon Journet, Albert “A.J.” Journet, III, Jermaine Carmouche (Bri), Jeremy Carmouche (Trina), Kevin Carmouche (Angela), Maurice Carmouche (Norma Jean), Quincy LeBlanc, Damian Wiltz (Crystal), Darold Wiltz, Adrien LeBlanc, and Isiah LeBlanc; sisters, Rhonda Journet (Joseph Linden), Jassmaine Journet, Dana Wiltz, and Jamie LeBlanc; paternal grandfather, Milton LeBlanc, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Rondell Jermaine Journet; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Journet, Sr.; paternal grandmother, Hilda LeBlanc; and step grandmother, Alta Mae Carmouche.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Journet, Kendrick Journet, Ronald Journet, Draycolby Journet, Brandon Journet, Nathanial Thomas, and Jermaine Carmouche.

Honorary pallbearers will be Norris Roberts, Derrick Frederick, Damien Noel, Jeremy Carmouche, Demontrell Babineaux, and Albert “A.J.” Journet, Jr.
