New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Utha "Tut" Viator Romero, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Lafayette.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home on Thursday, May 12, from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 AM on Thursday by CDA Court Blessed Mother Teresa.
Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in New Iberia.
Tut was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She worked as a cook in several school cafeterias and at Sonic, and also owned Romero's Drive Inn. She enjoyed going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
Tut is survived by two sons, Raymond Romero, Sr. and wife Sandra, and Carroll Romero, all of New Iberia, a daughter, Kay Lamperez of Youngsville; seven grandchildren, Chenee Broussard and husband Tony, Chase Romero and wife Alexis, Raymond Romero, Jr. and companion Elizabeth White, Racheal Romero and companion Don Roy, Jr., Jennifer Blue, Cody Romero and wife Priscilla, and Drey Romero; 11 great grandchildren; and her very good friend and companion, Eugene Suire, Sr.
She was preceded in death by husband, Reaul Chucke Romero, daughter-in-law, Cindy Romero, son-in-law, Philip Lamperez, and her parents, Harrison and Lorita Viator.
Pallbearers will be Chase Romero, Raymond Romero Jr., Cody Romero, Drey Romero, Tony Broussard, and T-Boy Suire.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of her great-grandchildren.
