Val John Champagne

Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Val Champagne, 65, who passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his wife and daughters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday.

Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert will officiate at the Funeral Service.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Born on January 28, 1956, Val was a native resident of Breaux Bridge. He spent the last 49 years with his high school sweetheart and wife, Lola. He focused his life on his family, and nothing made him smile like his girls and his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering, and watching movies. He remained a steady presence of love and support throughout his three-and-a-half-year battle with MSA, and he will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Champagne; daughters, Collette Roberts (Brian), Michelle Wiley (Peter) and Danielle Caudle (Kristopher); grandchildren, Anna Roberts and Ethan Roberts; brothers, Keith Champagne (Rose) and Brent Champagne; sisters, Lisa Champagne and Cindy Champagne; and his mother-in-law, Gloria C. Thevenet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jean and Lois Aileen Hyatt Champagne, Jr.; brother, Kevin Champagne; and father-in-law, James Patrick "Pat" Thevenet.
