Verna Mae Blanchard will be remembered for the love she poured into the simple, meaningful moments of life. She had a special gift for bringing people together, especially through her cooking. Holiday meals prepared by Verna were more than just food-they were expressions of love, warmth, and family tradition that will be cherished forever.
She found joy in music and dancing, often lighting up a room with her spirit and energy. Whether it was a favorite song playing or a quiet evening at home, Verna knew how to appreciate life's little pleasures. She also had a fondness for the excitement of the casino, enjoying the thrill and fun it brought her.
Above all, Verna cherished her time at home and the memories she created with those she loved. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and togetherness to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Meverly Bernard (Burt); grandchild, Burton Bernard, Jr. (Danielle); great-grandchildren, Shea Bernard, Reagan Bernard, Cru Bernard and Memphis Bernard; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Blanchard; parents, Alfred and Louise Albert; brother Ernest Albert; and sister, Juanita Gaspard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Heart of Hospice and St. Agnes Nursing Home.
