Readers will be Trailand Anthony and Breionica Anthony. Burial will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Veronica, known affectionately as "Lynn," was a proud member of the St. Martin Parish School Board, where she served as a dedicated school bus driver. Her commitment to the education of the community's youth left an indelible mark and created countless memories for generations of students. Lynn also found joy in her later years while working at Walmart, spreading smiles and laughter to everyone she met.
Lynn held many passions, like her love for seafood, cooking delectable meals for her family, or singing and dancing to timeless classics like "It's Electric" and "My Girl" by The Temptations. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
In her youth, Lynn loved shopping trips and sewing projects. Her fondness for travel and her enjoyment of classic western films painted the colorful tapestry of her life, while her admiration for the works of Tyler Perry touched her heart deeply.
Lynn honorably served in the United States Army for 4 years while being stationed in South Carolina. She made many life-long friends throughout her time in the service, but notably she adored Valerie Volson, who even went on to name her daughter after Veronica. This speaks volumes on Lynn's character and the lasting impact she left on everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Erica Fontenette-Cormier; her one and only grandchild who she adored, Skyler Cormier; brother, Jerry Joseph (Beverly); and sisters, Jerry Dean Anthony (Alton, Sr.), Joyce Lewis, Georgia Mamou, Amanda Landry and Lisa Williams (Cedric).
She is preceded in death by her husband, Junius Williams; daughter, Raven Williams; parents, Edwin Joseph, Jr. and Josephine Pete Joseph; sister, JoAnn Alice Joseph; brother, James Joseph; paternal grandfather, Edwin Joseph Sr.; paternal grandmother, Dorita Sassau; maternal grandfather, Antoine Pete; maternal grandmother, Elena Gary; niece, Amy Anthony; and uncles, Jessie Pete and Joseph Pete.
