Virginia "Jenny" Dugas

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. Louis Mission Chapel in Parks for Virginia "Jenny" Dugas, 69, who passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am on Saturday morning.

Father Rozas will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Chalice Logan and Jasmine Narcisse.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Virginia Dugas was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to James and Maenora Dugas. She attended Carver High School and was a 1972 graduate of Breaux Bridge High School. Virginia then attended Southern University and A&M College. She retired from the St. Martin Parish School Board after over 40 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Demouchet (Ferguson); grandchild, Bryson Ingrams; brothers, Paul Dugas, Sr. (Ellena) and Gerard Dugas (Chris); sister, Stella Jackson; sister-in-law, Clara Dugas; sister cousins, Yvonne Narcisse (Lawrence) and Jane Shelton; and godchildren, Chalice Logan (Josh), Lakeeshi Williams (Marcus) and Paul Dugas, Jr. (Carrie).

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Dugas and Maenora Thibodeaux Dugas; brother, Daniel Dugas; paternal grandparents, Alcibiade and Adelle Dugas; and maternal grandparents, Simon and Laura Thibodeaux.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Ingrams, Paul Dugas, Jr., James Dugas, Alonzo Narcisse, Andrew Shelton and Damien Jackson.
