Vivian T. Blanchard

St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 6, 2026, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church honoring the life of Vivian T. Blanchard, 97, who passed away on March 30, 2026, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home.

A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 AM on Monday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church.

Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Deacon Russell Hayes will assist and be the reader.

Burial will follow at St. Michael Mausoleum.

Vivian was born on November 20, 1928, in St. Martin Parish. She embodied warmth and kindness throughout her life, making a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Known to many as "Vee”, she was a treasured friend, always welcoming visitors with open arms and a warm cup of coffee. Every morning, she would gather with a close-knit group of friends, sharing stories and laughter, creating a space where everyone felt at home. Vivian had a gift for listening and offering comfort, and her compassionate spirit touched those around her. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alcee and Zulme Champagne Thibodeaux; husband, Howard Blanchard; and her siblings, Leona Chastant, Donald Thibodeaux, Sr., and Rowena Thibodeaux Champagne.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her caregivers, especially the last three that stayed with her till the end.
