Breaux Bridge A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Wallace Landry, 87, who passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014, at St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center.
Rev. Paul LaFleur, will officiate at the Mass. Readers will be Kaydence LeBlanc and Tammy Latiolais. Gift bearers will be his great grandchildren.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday.
Wallace enjoyed gardening, raising farm animals, carpentry and spending time with his family and friends. He loved French music and he was a jack of all trades.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Landry and his wife, Joann of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Madeline LeBlanc and her husband Edward of Breaux Bridge; his brothers - Herman (Ermine) Landry of Breaux Bridge and Patrick Landry of New Iberia; his sister, Agles (Paul) Cormier of Lafayette; 13 Grandchildren; and 15 Great Grandchildren; .
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Landry; his mother, Cecile Poche Landry; his wife of 65 years Marie L. Landry; his son, Gerald Landry Sr.; his sisters, Mildred Breaux and Alidia Laneaux and his brother, Lambert Landry.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Landry, Gerald Landry, Jr., Trey Latiolais, Eddie LeBlanc III, Dane Hardy, Kirk Landry and Von Harper, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of his Great Grandchildren.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to St. Martinville Rehab & Nursing Center for their compassion and care given to Mr. Wallace during his time spent at the center.
