Walter Joseph Dauphine

St. Martinville - Private graveside services will be held for the immediate family of Walter Joseph Dauphine , 64, who passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at his residence. Walter was an employee of Parks Middle School for many years. He was a member of the Stone Junkies baseball team. He was also known as Buffalo Man. Walter was the family chef, he always made sure everyone was fed; he loved to barbecue and watch the Oakland Raiders. Walter was a jokester and kept everyone laughing at all times. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 30 years, Rita Reneé Dauphine; brothers, Carol Dauphine, Lewis Dauphine, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, and Wilfred Dauphine and wife Jo Ann; sister, Linda Dauphine; cousins who were raised as siblings together, Regina Charles, Caroline Roberts, Barbara Stewart and Agnes Robertson; sister in laws, Evelyn Dauphine, Augustine Dauphine, and Vonda Potier; and his brother in laws, Thaddeus Potier, and Gregg Potier; close niece, Kayla Dauphine Mallery and husband Nolan; godchildren, Tina Charles, Fantella Brown and Floyd Wiltz, Jr.; a host of special nieces and nephews; and his special cooking friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aurelia and Louis Dauphine, Sr.; brothers, Dieu Donne Dauphine, Paul Dauphine, Archille Dauphine, Gerald Dauphine, and Wilbert Dauphine; his sister, Betty Dauphine; and his sister in laws Caroline Dauphine, Emily Dauphine, Betty Jane Dauphine, and Anna Dauphine.
