Ward J. Stewart

Breaux Bridge- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church honoring the life of Ward J. Stewart, 89, who passed away on July 11, 2026 at Avanti Senior Living.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:30 am until service time.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Monday by Marlene Dore and Gene LeBlanc.

Rev. Michael Richard will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Sarah Wofford and Rebecca Chenault. Gift bearers will be Sandi Longrie and Kelli Stanford.

Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.

A passionate dancer, Ward was a talented Arthur Murray Dance Instructor who loved sharing his joy of dance with others. He dedicated many years to working with Tenneco Oil Company but found his true passion in antiques. Together with Elaine, he owned and operated Stewart's Antiques and Estate Sales, where he took immense pride in his work and created lasting memories through the treasures he helped others find.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years , Elaine LeBlanc Stewart; daughter, Elizabeth Rae Stewart Jenkins (Marty); sister, Judy Guidry; grandchildren, Sarah Wofford (Jackson) and Rebecca Chenault (Hudson); great-grandchildren, Wren Chenault, Lucy Wofford, Murphy Chenault and Rosie Wofford; and his niece Sandi Longrie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Alvina LeBlanc Stewart; brother-in-law Raymond Guidry; and nephew Randy Guidry.

Pallbearers will be Mark LeBlanc, Gene LeBlanc, Mike Sonnier, Dirck Sonnier, Jackson Wofford and Hudson Chenault.
