Wesley Trahan

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Wesley J. Trahan, 93, who died Saturday, November 27, 2010 in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Rev. Gary Schexnayder will be the Celebrant. A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia , Mr. Trahan worked for Untied Gas/Entex for over 42 years, and was a longtime usher at St. Peter Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Edvidge Derise 'Blackie' Trahan of New Iberia; sons, Michael Trahan and wife Janenne of New Iberia, Steven L. Trahan and wife Ronda of New Iberia; daughters, Diane L. Trahan of New Iberia, Susan Boutte of Lafayette, Lucille 'Bea' Theriot of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Phil Boutte, Craig Boutte, Sean Trahan, Shane Trahan, Joshua Trahan, Jennifer Trahan, Jerry Trahan, Lee Trahan; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Trahan, Sr., and Alix Landry Trahan; brother, Edward Trahan, Jr.; and a sister, Laurie Norton. Pallbearers will be Mr. Trahan's grandchildren A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Monday. Visitation will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM .
