Wilfred Cyril "WC" Lanie, III

New Iberia – A native and resident of New Iberia, Wilfred Cyril “WC” Lanie III, age 47, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Cyril was an avid outdoorsman who truly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he had a deep love for his family as well as his dog. A dedicated professional, he was employed as a machinist by PetroTechnologies Inc. for the last 21 years, having previously worked alongside his family at WC Lanie & Sons.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Lawhon Lanie of New Iberia; sisters, Rhonda Lanie of Youngsville, and Julia Lanie Derise (Mark) of New Iberia; nieces, Brianna Lanie of Youngsville, and Ashley Nicole Segura of New Iberia; nephew, Joshua Lanie and his wife Meagan, and their three children, Kaylan Marie, Aubrey Rayne, and Aiden Taylor of New Iberia; and a great niece, Cameron Elise Motto of New Iberia

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Cyril Lanie, Jr., and his sister, Heather Lee Lanie.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses of The Carpenter House for the exceptional love and support extended to them during this time.
