Wilfred 'Poochie' Mouton

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge, for Wilfred Poochie Mouton, who passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until funeral service at 11:00 am. Dee Huval will officiate the AA Group Meeting at 7:00 pm, Sunday. Poochie was a group leader for Alcoholics Anonymous and a member of the American Pool Players Association. He enjoyed playing pool, and watching the Saints, LSU and Breaux Bridge High School football. He was known as Butch to his offshore buddies at Mallard where he retired after 30 years. Poochie then became a transportation driver for Statewide for 11 years until he retired. His family and grandchildren meant the world to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Poochie would do anything for his family and he will always be remembered for his love, support and big hugs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving children, Ava Mouton, April Faber and husband Jeff, and Jason Mouton and wife Alisha; grandchildren, Tori Thibodeaux, Bryson Thibodeaux, Dylan Thibodeaux, Ian Thibodeaux, Alexis Faber, Justin Faber, Landon Faber, Aaliyah Maddox, Alyssa Maddox; loving girlfriend, Geraldine "Dene" Blanchard; brothers, Milton Mouton and wife Nellie, Raymond Mouton and wife Scarlete, William "Yuam" Dugas and wife Marie, Clifton "Meme" Mouton and wife Paulette, Clifford "Bago" Mouton, and Harold John Mouton; sisters, Jenny Abshire and husband Adam, Margie Daigle and husband Ray, Melissa Carpenter and husband Brad, and Theresa Gautreaux and husband Jody; step-sister, Paulette Dugan Poirier; sisters-in-law, Liz Mouton, Shelia Belaire, and Sheilla Mouton; brother-in-law, Lindsey Landry; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ned Mouton; mother, Eve Dugas Belaire; step-father, Wilfred Belaire; step-mother, Maria Sanchez Belaire; sisters, Lorena Landry and Mildred Pontiff; brothers, Edward Mouton, Jr. and Darrel Belaire; brother-in-law, Carol Pontiff; and niece, Patty Mouton. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, brothers, and AA group members. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Lafayette General Medical Center for their care during this difficult time, and a special thanks to his longtime friend, Dee Huval for her love and support.
